Banning cell phones in schools is just plain absurd. God forbid their be a tragedy many would be excommunicated. We have learned of many tragedies involving guns in different universities . Many of these universities have now created text alerts in case of an emergency. This shows how useful cell phones can be. Banning cell phones can exclude students from after school activities such as a ballet class, soccer practice or a part time job. They depend on the cell phones to keep their parents informed of their well being . Technology is evolving and society just needs to learn to adapt because these are good creations.

Events like the 1999 massacre at Columbine High School near Littleton, Colo., in which two student shooters killed 12 fellow classmates and teachers, raised the question of whether students should have them for emergencies.
